Breath, Tongue,
Fingertips is a work for solo flute, written in the Autumn of
1995. The
piece is an exploration of emotional contrasts in intimacy and
distance, action and stillness. Plus, as the title might suggest, the
physicality of playing the flute is part of my inspiration: Touching
the instrument, breathing voice into it, and articulating musical ideas
through colors and lines of its sound.
