Douglas Geers

Douglas Geers is a composer living in New York City.   Geers specializes in electro-acoustic and multimedia musical works, including various combinations of live musicians, actors, video, dancers, and computer-generated sounds.

In September 2009, Geers joined the faculty of the City University of New York, where he is an Associate Professor of Music Composition and Director of the Center for Computer Music at the Brooklyn College Conservatory.  He is also a member of the CUNY Graduate Center music faculty.

Formerly Geers worked as an Associate Professor of Music Composition and Director of the STRUM Electronic Music Studios at the School of Music of the University of Minnesota (Twin Cities), where he founded and directed the Spark Festival of Electronic Music and Arts.
